'Tis the season and preparations are underway at the Christmas Light House in Rome.

The annual display at the home of Jon Maggiolino and Becky Price is almost ready to roll this year but with a few changes. " At 6 and 7 on the weekends the music will play outside. During the week you'll have to tune in to the radio between 5 and 7pm Monday through Thursday," explains Jon.

Christmas isn't Christmas in Rome without the light display and Jon says the community looks forward to it every year. "It's fun when people walk by earlier in the year, even in July and ask us if we're doing it again."

We've added a couple of things with the spiral trees in the yard and cosmic color ribbon that we can change any color we want

In addition to the beautiful lights, Jon and Becky try to give back to the community each year. "We collect donations for Toys for Tots and there's a box for cash donations. It's been great and we've raised a lot of money for the local community with that. We'll have those out again but only on the weekend this year."

The Christmas Light House at 1218 N James Street in Rome has 64 channels with over 25,000 lights. "What Becky does is she programs all the Christmas music to the lights and she controls each individual strand so it becomes quite a show. We've added a couple of things with the spiral trees in the yard and cosmic color ribbon that we can change any color we want," says Jon

Preparations usually begin in October but Joe says they got a late start this year. "Luckily the weather is holding out for us and we have a nice week to finish up."

You can enjoy the Christmas Light House starting on Friday December 2nd through Sunday December 25th this year.
