Central New York Heat Advisory until 9 tonight. Is it me or are the only two weather options, oppressive heat or heavy rainfall. Today will be option 1 with heat indexes in the upper 90's. And of course with high humidity comes the chance of option2.

The heat advisory is in effect for the following counties: Northern and Southern Oneida, Onondaga, Madison, Yates, Seneca and Southern Cayuga.

HEAT INDEX VALUES... In the upper 90s due to temperatures in the lower 90s, and dewpoints in the upper 60s.

TIMING... From the midday hours into the early evening.

WHAT TO DO...As always drinking plenty of fluids and stay indoors as much as possible. And check on older relatives and neighbors. Reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening and wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.

There are cooling centers around New York state to help beat the heat including several in CNY.
