Buck Owens Skips A Beat On The Double
Today we're honoring "The Bakersfield Sound", as it was called on our "Country Classic Double" at 11:30 a.m. We begin with Buck Owens and his number one song from 1964, "My Heart Skips A Beat". We finish up with Merle Haggard's "Workin' Man Blues", a number one hit in 1969. The "Bakersfield Sound" was a certain style associated with artists from Bakersfield, California.
Here's a video clip of Buck Owens and the Buckaroos with "My Heart Skips A Beat" as performed on the classic TV show "Hee-Haw".
Enter Buck Owens as the first artist of the "Country Classic Double" in our Rewards Club for a chance to win lunch or dinner for two for a year at Babe's.
