Auburn and Cayuga County residents have two more opportunities to pick up free milk from the Auburn Rotary Club.

The club is holding giveaways the next two Thursdays: May 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Casey Park Elementary School and June 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Auburn Towne Center Plaza. Both of the giveaways will have drive-thru and walk-up options, although those who walk up must practice social distancing and wear masks.

The family-owned farm, Hillcrest Dairy from Moravia, New York, will be providing 500 half-gallons of 2 percent milk for each giveaway

“We're ecstatic to partner with Hillcrest Dairy, especially on such short notice,” Michelle Barber, the Auburn Rotary Club President, said in a statement on the club's Facebook page. “Our mission is still to provide milk to families in need in the Auburn and Cayuga County communities.”

The giveaways also help local dairy farmers like those at Hillcrest Dairy, utilize their milk instead of dumping it, like many farmers have had to do as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Auburn Rotary Club gave away milk to over 500 cars of families earlier this month during their first milk giveaway.
