Attention Beer Lovers – I Discovered A Brewery On Vacation

Over the years, I've kept you up to date on the many products and events at the F.X. Matt Brewery in Utica. As a former brewery employee, I've kept an interest in craft breweries and brew pubs and found a great one on vacation two weeks ago!

After a hot day in the 95 degree sun viewing the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona, my wife and I stopped in for lunch and refreshment at the "Oak Creek Brewery & Grill". Wow, what a discovery!

These people definitely know how to make beer! The brewmaster is right from Germany, and I even met his wife. Oak Creek Brewery makes a number of styles of beer, from an Amber Ale, IPA, Brown Ale and seasonal brews, to their Gold Lager.

I told the brewmaster's wife that we had an excellent local brewery in our hometown, and she asked which one of Oak Creek's beers I like best. "Oak Creek Gold Lager", I answered, and she said that was her favorite too. I told my wife that was reassuring that as long as that Gold Lager was the brewmaster's wife's favorite, he would always brew up that one (or he'd hear about it at home)!
