Apex Entertainment Center inside Destiny USA is closed, and will stay that way indefinitely.

The decision to close came after three $1,000 fines were levied against the establishment for not being in compliance with COVID-19 regulations.

County inspectors witnessed people bowling without masks, playing laser tag and tables with more than 4 people, according to Syracuse.com.

Company spokesman Rob Luzzi believe they are being unfairly targeted andsays the decision to close was a corporate one. "Essentially, if we’re going to get our chops busted, it’s not worth it,” he told Syracuse.com.

Apex Entertainment Center reopened its doors in October 7 after months of staying closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. They first openedopened in March 2019, featuring over 55,000 square feet of fun. In addition to the multi-level, New York City Laser Tag Arena and hyper-realistic VR and target practice, there's bowling, bumper cars, updated classics and the newest gaming innovations in a 70-player arcade.

There are several other Apex Entertainment locations in New York state and all are still open.

Destiny USA remains open for now. However, parts of the mall are in the 'Orange Zone,' for rising COVID cases, placing restrictions on high risk non essential businesses.
