A glitch in American Airlines employee scheduling system has threatened to cancel thousands of flights just before the busy Holiday travel season.

The glitch in the system apparently allowed dozens of AA pilots to take time off at the same time, according to CNBC.com.

The report says American Airlines Pilots' Union estimates that around 15,000 flights scheduled for December don't have any pilots lined up to actually fly them.

As a result, American Airlines is offering their pilots time and a half to work on days they requested off.

The airline says it is working diligently to get the problem fixed and travelers back in the air in time for the Holidays.

Are you planning to fly for the Holidays? If so were you booked on AA? We would love to hear your story.
