Alan Jackson is leaving the record label that's been his home since the beginning.  Alan signed with Arista Records in 1989, both sides announced the amicable split today.

“I’ve had a great run with Arista going all the way back to the beginning of my career when I signed with Tim DuBois,” explained Jackson in a statement. “I’ve gotten to work with some real great people along the way and we accomplished a lot. It just seems to me like the time may be right to change things up a bit and see what comes next.”

Alan and Arista are releasing a 34 "Number Ones" CD that will include a Johnny Cash remake.  More details on that here. Alan kicks off a tour of Canada February 1 and then heads to Australia in March.  Get more details on leaving Arista
