Alan Jackson Wants Fans to Pick His 2019 Tour Openers
Alan Jackson will kick off his 2019 tour on in Jan. 25 Louisville, Ky., and he wants fans to choose who will open for him.
The Country Music Hall of Famer is letting fans vote on 21 acts who could potentially share the stage with him throughout his tour, which runs through September.
Randy Houser and William Michael Morgan are official special guests, but several concert dates on the tour will feature two artists who play AJ's Good Time Bar in Nashville. In addition to James Carothers, Amanda Daughtry and Jay Bragg — all frequent performers at Jackson's famed honky-tonk on Nashville's Lower Broadway —two more artists will be selected through the Wild Card Contest and will join Jackson on select tour dates.
Fans can vote on the to-be-determined winners until Feb. 8 at 5 PM ET. For more information and to listen to music from the possible performers, visit the bar's website.
Jackson's tour kicks off the end of January and continues through September. The singer will take a break in the middle of the summer and resume touring in August. Throughout the trek, he'll perform at a mix of arenas and amphitheaters in cities including Columbus, Ohio; Charlotte, N.C.; and Orlando, Fla.
The country icon's 2019 tour follows his Honky Tonk Highway Tour in 2017 and 2018, for which Houser also opened. Tickets for the tour are currently on sale through his website. The singer is expected to add more dates to the tour in the coming weeks, as well as announce the two wild-card winners who will join him on the road.
