Even after a long Winter, Summer in Central New York makes it all worth it. Are you looking for a few good spots to spread out a blanket and have a nice picnic? Try one or all of these parks.

Onondaga Lake Park, In Liverpool-  Not only is there a great waterfront picnic area the park also features slides, swings and a concrete skate park. There is also a fenced in play ground for dogs.

Green Lakes State Park, Fayetteville-  Here you can enjoy your picnic, then do some hiking, biking, or fishing. In the Winter there is fifteen miles of trails open for Cross Country Skiing.

Fair haven Beach State Park, Sterling-   This park boasts a great sandy beach, great scenery and a guarded swimming area. You can also do some boating and fishing on Lake Ontario. There is also a cabin area and campgrounds.

Chittenango Falls State Park, Cazenovia-  If you are into scenery this is probably one of the best spots. Check out the almost 200 foot waterfalls. You can view from above or hike into the gorge and view it from a foot bridge. Picnicking, fishing and hiking are all available.
