We have had a number of hot days already this summer and with more than a month and a half in the season there have already been a number of reports of drivers experiencing weather related engine problems. A report by YNN found that auto repair shops have seen an increase of engine problems due to the extreme heat.

Drought Conditions Spreading Eastward

The National Weather Service is calling it the worst drought in almost 50 years. Its effect on food prices, especially corn and soybeans, will be deeply felt in the weeks and months to come. According to a report from Reuters some 55% of the lower 48 states are experiencing drought conditions with little relief in sight. The midwest has been the hardest hit but now the dry conditions are moving eastward.

April Snowstorm Belts Western New York

We do a lot of complaining about the weather here in the Utica-Rome area but the fact is it could be worse. A late April snowstorm has swept through Western New York leaving lawns coated and highways slush covered. Orchard Park, just south of Buffalo and home to Ralph Wilson Stadium had received almost 5 inches of snow by late Monday afternoon with more on the way. What's the outlook for the Mohawk Valley?
