The Tuttle family is picking up the pieces after their farm burned to the ground. The blaze broke out at Columbus Dairy Farm on Balcom Hill Road in New Berlin Wednesday September 14th.

Photographer Rick Crowell captured the heartbreaking blaze and firefighters who worked to put it out. "I try to capture what it feels like to be there. To be in the moment.

The real thanks needs to go to the men and women you see in the photos, and the ones you don't see as well

To feel the pain of the fireman trying to save something someone has worked so hard to get and keep. To capture what our heroes go through."

Crowell says he's received many compliments on his photos but he's not the one who needs a thank you. "The real thanks needs to go to the men and women you see in the photos, and the ones you don't see as well."

The cause of the blaze is being blamed on an electrical short. Luckily the animals were saved, no one was injured and the farm was insured.

Firefighters from New Berlin, Norwich, Sherburne, Edmeston, Garrattsville. Mount Upton and Pittsfield were on the scene from around 3:30pm until 2am.

A family friend has set up a GoFundMe to help the Tuttle family rebuild.
