Lights, camera, action! American Idol alum Kellie Pickler will soon return to the small screen, but this time the 28-year-old singer will be the star of a reality television show produced by Ryan Seacrest.

Tentatively titled I Love Kellie Pickler, the show will follow the lives of Pickler and her husband, songwriter Kyle Jacobs. Although the project is still in the early stages, Pickler couldn't be more excited about the prospect. She and Jacobs are busy working alongside Seacrest and CMT to flesh out the concept.

“We’re in the creative process right now," she tells Rolling Stone Country. “We did a little sizzle reel, and when we went to pitch the sizzle reel, we were just so lucky to go forward. We didn’t think we would go straight to series [without a pilot]."

The singer has been offered reality shows for several years, but she didn't seriously consider it until Seacrest came on board.

“I’ve been offered reality shows since Idol,” Pickler says. “With Ryan it just felt right. We’ve been talking about it for years, and just have never made it a priority.”

The 10-episode series will give viewers a behind-the-scenes view of the couple's lives.

“We laugh so much,” Pickler admits of life with her husband. “We have Redneck Supper Club dinner parties at our house and grill out. I was a huge fan of Lucille Ball, and her funny shenanigans with Ethel that poor Ricky would have to get her out of. We want to play off that type of comedy — lighthearted but natural situations that I get into — and marry that with a Friends-type feel.”

Pickler knows she may say a few things she regrets, but notes that she isn't worried about it. “I think people know that pretty much what you see is what you get with me,” she declares with a laugh.

The series is slated to start production in April and will premiere Sept. 18 on CMT.
