Inappropriate September 11 Remembrances
As reported earlier today on WIBX officials at Boston’s Logan Airport are apologizing for yesterdays emergency fire drill. The drill, which included smoke and flames, was inappropriate given that yesterday, September 11, was the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that took down the World Trade Center. It wasn’t the only inappropriate activity of the day. Check these out.
A Marriott Hotel combined 9-11 with a breakfast special.

A golf course in Wisconsin thought this was a good idea.

AT&T thought it might be a good idea to show the World Trade Center memorial lights through an AT&T-enabled smartphone with the message, “Never Forget.” The company took the tweet down with the following apology.
We apologize to anyone who felt our post was in poor taste. The image was solely meant to pay respect to those affected by the 9/11 tragedy.

Both Mariott Hotels and the Wisconsin golf course were profuse in their apologies and while mistakes do happen a little vetting of proposed promotions is definitely in order.
On Wednesday morning in New York, family and friends of the victims of 9/11, along with law-enforcement and political leaders, gathered at the World Trade Center site to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
