There are many causes for driver distraction. We know that texting while driving and talking on your cell phone can result in an accident but now Fido and Mr. Whiskers are also in the crosshairs of distracted driving dangers. There is a new report that shows that driving with a pet in the car increases your chances for getting into an accident.
There are signs that the economy is picking up after a few tough years. However the improvement is far from universal. There are still people who are having a rough go of it and if they have a pet it is even more difficult. You can buy Coke with food stamps but not pet food, a questionable call. Now a former Wall Street stockbroker has started a service called "Pet Food Stamps" to help ease the burden.
If you're like me, you're a dog lover. And how can anyone resist cute puppies? Check out this video of puppies trying to climb stairs.
I know our two cats Fenway and Parker (yes, we're Red Sox fans) love boxes. Anytime we bring home something that comes in a box it's just a matter of minutes before one or the other climbs in-or at least tries to-and makes themselves comfortable. Maybe they'll just lie on it or scratch at it or chew it but whatever it is about a box it is simply irresistible. Apparently the same goes for big cats as in really big cats. Take a look.
If you love cats like we do in the Greg "Splashin'" McShea household, you'll love this video. Someone shot a video of their cat seeing her reflection in the bathroom mirror, and then waving and posing at it.
Talking animal video's seem to pop up on an almost daily basis so it's not surprising that some of them slip our notice. Such was the case of this pooch being teased by its owner about--what else--food.
Puppies face a frequent conflict: they want to be part of whatever's going on, but they're so, sooooo ... (yawn) ... tired ...........
Dogs have a peculiar relationship with lemons (and limes and oranges—any citrus, really).
When I first saw this story I thought to myself, how could you possibly mistake a ferret for a poodle. Then I saw the picture above. It turns out a Buenos Aires, Argentina man went to a local bazaar to buy a pair of toy poodles but wound up with two bulked up, steroid fed ferrets with "poofed out" coats. It was an expensive scam. How expensive?
We're cat lovers in the Greg "Splashin'" McShea household. It's funny how each cat has his or her own very different personality. Here's a kitty who seems to be grumpy.
If you're a dog lover, then you may want to head to the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse beginning this Thursday.
