Blake Shelton Announces New ‘Texoma Shore’ Album
Blake Shelton just dropped news of his next studio album. Texoma Shore will be released on Nov. 3, featuring his new single "I'll Name the Dogs." It's his 11th studio album and first since If I'm Honest was released in May 2016.
The singer and coach of The Voice shared the news on social media on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 21). Fans anticipated the announcement, as he's been teasing something big on Twitter for nearly a week. Given the timing of the release of his new single and the start of the upcoming season of The Voice, it also seemed likely he'd make new music available. Several of his latest projects have come during the final weeks of the hit NBC competition.
News of Shelton's new album is actually the second piece of new music news he was a part of on Thursday. Girlfriend Gwen Stefani shared details on her new Christmas album You Make It Feel Like Christmas (due Oct. 6), which features Shelton on the title track. A clip of that song was made available on Instagram.
Yep, Blake Made the List of Country Music's Highest Paid
Thus far fans have only heard "I'll Name the Dogs" from Shelton's new Texoma Shore album. Songwriter Ben Hayslip confirmed he has several additional cuts on the album, but did not go into detail. During an interview with Taste of Country, he revealed what inspired the song, if the writers had Shelton and Stefani's relationship in mind as they wrote it (kind of) and if they were making a dig at dog-lover Miranda Lambert with the title (they weren't).
Hayslip also revealed that Florida Georgia Line showed interest in the song, but by then Shelton had already put it on hold.
