A Vernon man locked his love on the famous bridge in Paris, France and he didn't even have to leave home.

Randy Holm found a site online where someone put a love lock on the fence at Point des Arts bridge in Paris, France. "It’s a destination for couples wishing to memorialize their love for each other by attaching a padlock to the chain link fence."

The lock has Randy and Diane's name with a message and is locked to the fence. "The key is thrown into the Seine River to symbolize everlasting love for each other," says Randy.

Once the love lock is attached to the bridge, a note with another key is mailed to you. "I received the key with GPS coordinates so if I ever go to Paris we can find it."

If that's not romantic enough, Randy took it a step further. "I took a picture of the lock on the fence and put it on a canvas frame to surprise my wife along with this whole story on our anniversary."

The romantic tradition has become so popular the weight of the love locks is damaging the famous bridge. Officials went so far as to remove the locks a few years ago, asking tourists to take selfies instead. It didn't work. As the locks are taken down, more appear.

Whether the Holm's lock is still on the famous bridge or not, their love will last a lifetime.

Diane and Randy are off to see Zac Brown June 9 at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview and go into the grand prize drawing for a Valentine's Day getaway to Homewood Suites in New Hartford.
