The Search is on for the Next Gerber Baby

The Gerber Baby has been around since 1928. What started as a charcoal drawing to represent a canning company's baby food line, has become an annual photo contest with the chosen winner getting 50-grand and the prestigious title of "the Gerber Baby." Here's how to enter.

In today's pc world, the official title is the "Gerber Spokebaby." Little ones need to between 0 to 4 years-of-age. To enter, post a recent photo of your baby on Instagram using the hashtag #GerberPhotoSearch2018. Your Instagram account will have to be set to public for judges to view it. Here are some tips from Gerber's Official Rules page.

Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: (a) visual appeal of the child(ren) in the photo; (b) expressiveness of child(ren) in photo; and c) consistency with Gerber's heritage and its Anything For Baby mission.

Deadline to enter is October 20. The top 100 will be chosen by November 30, with the eventual 50-k winner announced December 30. Get the complete rules and more information on Gerber's website.
