wild west frogfest 2012

Each year about 3 or 4 days before Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo we do what we call the walk through.  That was today at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.  It always seems so weird, the wide open grounds look so huge, then in comes the stage, vendor booths and rodeo.  Here's a look at the fairgrounds now and what it will look like come this Saturday.

Josh Thompson will be 'Comin' Around' to the Herkimer County Fairgrounds Saturday for the Wild West FrogFest & Rodeo. He'll take the stage at 5pm and he told me he's ready for a rowdy crowd.

Meet Ethan Harris from Garrattsville, NY, which if you don't know, is north of Oneonta. Ethan is an aspiring singer/songwriter who will be preforming the National Anthem at Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo June 9.  He's just 19 and has already opened for American Idol contestant, Melinda Doolittle and won various music competitions around Central New York.

Easton Corbin will headline this year's Wild West FrogFest & Rodeo at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds June 9th.  I had the opportunity to talk with Easton about his new music, his childhood and his musical influences growing up.  Easton also sat down for a video interview recently in case you want to put a face to the voice.

It's long been known that touring with Brad Paisley makes you fair game for some hilarious pranks. Wild West Frogfest and Rodeo co-headliner (with Josh Thompson) Easton Corbin found this out recently when he was pelted with bread rolls while performing on stage. It seems every time a country artist or rodeo participant makes their first trip to Central New York, they're amazed that it's not a part of New York City.  So a few days ago we began the search for CNY cowboys and found Mark Hoffman of Durhamville.  Today we get to spend a few minutes with Kev Smith of Verona.
