As a life-long resident of the Utica-Rome area, I recognize the importance of the Griffiss Airport facilities in Rome to the local community. Now thanks to federal funds, Griffiss will get an upgrade.

The first Mohawk Valley Aviation Day at Griffis International Airport had everything from planes and helicopters to race cars.  It was fun for the whole family Saturday.  Check out our photos from the event

Next Saturday, May 21, is the first-ever Mohawk Aviation Day at Griffis International Airport.  The event, sponsored by MVCC's Aviation program, will bring vintage aircraft, hot air balloons and a military fly-by to Griffis.  And it's FREE.
