Friday the 13th

T.G.I.F....and Friday the 13th at that! Another scorcher is expected today with temps hitting the 90s, and Saturday as well. We'll kick off today's "Country Classic Double" with a song all about this heat wave (sort of), "When You're Hot, You're Hot", by the late Jerry Reed which was the number one country song on this day back in 1971.

The set has been completed during the "Frog Days Of Summer". The year 2012 has three Fridays the 13th - the most you can have in any one year. Our first Friday the 13th was in January, the second was in April, and today is the final one. I hope that having three Fridays the 13th in a year doesn't make 2012 unlucky. Nah, that's just foolish superstition (knock on wood).

We have a banner year in 2012, with three Fridays the 13th, and today marks number two so far. We had our first Friday the 13th in January and our final one takes place in May. The maximum number you can have in one year is three, so we're pushing it to the max this year.

I never gave Friday, the 13th's much thought before today.  Actually believed more in the "full moon" theory than bad luck on Friday's that fall on the 13th.  After all it is Friday!  But, hand to God, this is the way my Friday the 13th started.

Here we are only two weeks into 2012, and already our first Friday the 13th is here. This is the first of three Friday the 13ths.  We'll have two more this year: one in April and the last one in July.

I hope you're not superstitious, because today is Friday the 13th!  So, maybe you better knock on wood, and certainly avoid walking under ladders, breaking mirrors or letting black cats cross your path.
