It's a change a number of artists have been calling for.

The Confederate flag and other hate symbols will no longer be displayed or sold on any public property in New York state.

Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill that will ban the sale of Confederate flags in New York.

"While every artist has a right to expression, we believe this decision is in the best interest of serving all of the people in our state."

Confederate Monuments and flags aren't the only things that may be coming down. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo wants streets with Confederate Generals names to be removed too. A letter was even sent to the Acting Secretary of the Army asking they be taken down.
