Legendary country artist Charley Pride has received the Ameripolitan Master Award for his work, making him the first-ever living recipient of the prestigious prize.

At Big Frog 104, it's fun to look back at some of the country music stars of yesteryear. My question is: "Where are they now"? Today, let's find out what Charley Pride has been up to, other than an occasional visit to our "Country Classic Double" weekdays at 11:30 a.m.

I like to find a theme for our "Country Classic Double" at 11:30 a.m. each day, and today it's a couple of "Good Time Charleys". We lead off with the birthday girl, Charly McClain who is 56 years old today, and we finish up with Charley Pride.

Our Big Frog 104 "Country Classic Double" at 11:30 a.m. weekdays, gives us an opportunity to showcase artists of days gone by. When Charley Pride first entered the music scene, he was one of the few African-American artists to perform country music.

One of my favorite country songs is Charley Pride's big 1970s hit "Kiss An Angel Good Morning".  That song propelled Charley into stardom, as it was a big hit on both country and pop charts. Now, a new movie about Charley Pride is in the works.
