We could all learn a lesson from an Ohio teen who showed respect for the American flag and everything it stands for. Cole Dotson noticed the flag in front of Continental High School had fallen. He held it off the ground until help arrived and his act of patriotism is going viral.

Dotson called his grandmother to come help and "This is where she found him," writes his mother Rhonda Pester on Facebook.

"I didn't intend to get recognized for what I did. But I am sure glad to see the support and respect for the flag. I love this flag and this country. God bless America," says Dotson.

The picture has over 52,000 shares in just a few days, appropriate just before Memorial Day weekend.

Tad and I use to work for a radio station in Lima, Ohio, just down the road from Continental High School. After living in the area for several years, this comes as no surprise. The people are friendly, generous, giving what they can when they can, and proud to be American.
