Cracker Barrel Customers Outraged Over New Modern Design
Cracker Barrel is making news for a modern revamp of their old country style interior.
Just recently, the famous biscuit restaurant tried to update the old horse and buggy aesthetic to a more "Chip and Joanna Gaines" style. Check out some of the updates below that enraged some loyal fans.
Back in May, Restaurant Business reported that the restaurant's CEO Julie Masino said a big problem for the chain was that, “we’re just not as relevant as we once were.”
Following financial struggles, the restaurant announced in a press release a strategic plan to improve the menu and both customer and employee experience.
Part of that plan included remodeling 25 to 30 locations in the 2025 fiscal year with a refresh from the well-known lattices and classic southern decor to a more modern and clean design.
A TikTok user posted a video showing that new decor earlier this week, and many people seem quite unhappy with the new look.
When asked about the changes, a customer said the new aesthetic was "unnerving."
"Its just a sign of the times," commented another woman, referring to all the new money-saving updates.
The historic chain has kept a few of its signature pieces, including their famous rocking chairs, fireplace and deer head, which may keep some people happy. The chain has also dropped 20 items to their southern cooking menu and added some new dishes, which will undoubtedly take some getting used to.
