Today, back in 1946, country legend Dolly Parton was born in Sevier County, Tennessee. She was one of 12 children and in 1964 she launched her county career. She got he first Grammy award in 1977 for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. To date, she has won five Grammy Awards total.  

Through her continuing career, she has been in 15 movies, and she even starred in her own television show, "Dolly", in 1976. Here's something you may not know about her, according to Internet Movie Database, here are a few of Dolly's nicknames--The Smoky Mountain Songbird, The Iron Butterfly, The Queen of Country, The Backwoods Barbie, The Queen of Nashville, The Book Lady, The Leading Lady of Country.

She is currently working on a new CD called "Better Day" and is filming a movie with Queen Latifah called "Joyful Noise".
