While you may not know Jim Lauderdale by name, you know his music.  George Strait alone has recorded 14 songs Jim has written.   Others include; Blake Shelton, The Dixie Chicks, Blake Shelton to just name a few.  He has even worked with both Elvis', Presley and Costello.

Jim says he knew he wanted to be a bluegrass player at a very young age, but he just kind of fell into country when he first started.  Proving how versatile he is, there will be a new bluegrass album out in a few weeks and a country album on shelves after the first of the year.  While bluegrass music doesn't get a lot of national attention or much radio airplay, Jim sees the genre as very healthy and thinks Darius Rucker's recording of Wagon Wheel and the TV series Nashville as helping bring a lot of attention to the music and The Opry.

Speaking of the show "Nashville," Jim has a song featured in the new season called, "Tears So Strong."  In a nutshell, Jim Lauderdale is a musician and songwriters, musician and songwriter.  One of the many great things about Munson Williams' concert series is the great artists that we wouldn't normally have the opportunity to see.  Jim's show is this Saturday night at 8 and tickets are $41.50.  They available online or by phone at 315-797-0055 or 800-754-0797.  Check out some Jim's songs below.  And for a chance to win tickets to the show click here, we'll give away 5 pair this Thursday.
