Ilion Police Department Free Seat Check Event

The Village of Ilion Police Department will be participating within National Seat Check Saturday, and will be conducting a FREE Child Passenger Safety Seat Check Event on Saturday, September 21st, 2019, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Ilion Municipal Building parking lot located at 49 Morgan Street, in the Village of Ilion. Parents and caregivers are invited to attend this event, where trained Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians will conduct free car seat inspections and provide educational information regarding child passenger safety. No appointments are necessary, and there are no Herkimer County residency requirements. Everyone is welcome to attend. Participating parents and caregivers (accompanied by their children and existing car seats) will need to drive their motor vehicles to the check event location, where several technicians will be on-hand to conduct car seat inspections. Drivers should enter the Municipal Building parking lot using the one-way entrance beside the Ilion Police Department located at 55 First Street. The Village of Ilion Police Department has again been awarded funding by the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee to conduct Child Passenger Safety Seat inspections throughout the year during special check events and inspection stations. The Village of Ilion Police Department has been designed as a permanent Child Passenger Safety Seat inspection location, where parents and caregivers can make an appointment to have their car seats inspected free of charge.
