Biggest Farm Show in the Northeast Coming to Central New York
Farm Progress
From the latest in farming equipment, seeds, livestock, and technology to the famous hot beef sundae; you'll find it all at the 2019 New York Farm Show. It's the biggest farm show in Northeast but is just a short drive to the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Here are the details and how to get free tickets.
The Farm Show is the work of the American Agriculturist and the Northeast Equipment Dealers Association. They'll utilize five buildings at the grounds for the 3-day show February 21 through 23. It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
More than 400 exhibitors, 31 of them new from last year's show, will showcase their products and services. Workshops go beyond the basics of fertilizer, seeds, and animals to include forestry products and land leasing to hunters. The New York Beef Producers may have the most popular exhibit featuring the hot beef sundae, a buttery bowl of mashed potatoes on slow-roasted beef, topped with gravy, cheddar cheese, and a cherry tomato. They begin serving every day at 11 a.m.
The show offers some benefits to 4-H as well, with a toy auction and deals on various sizes of hitch pins. More information about the event at the NY Farm Show.com, including a full list of vendors and schedule of workshops.
Get free tickets at any White's Farm Supply location, Cornell Cooperative Extension or by writing to New York Farm Show, P.O. Box 3470, Syracuse, NY 13220. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request by Feb. 15. Otherwise, tickets are $5 at the door and under 18 are free.
