It wasn't only a great day for the Boilermaker on Sunday, it was also a wonderful day to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful weather. And, that's exactly what I did. I decided to go to the Westmoreland Farmer's Market and check things out.

Now, whether you are looking for fresh fruits and vegetables, crafts, meat, cheese, flowers, salsa, honey,  jams and jellies or maple syrup, this market has it. There were about a dozen venders selling these items on the absolutely picture perfect day on Sunday (July 10).

Although the market was small, it has a lot to offer--a nice location, knowledgable and friendly vendors and a nice variety of produce, food and crafts. After speaking to various venders at the market, they told me that this is the first year for the outdoor summer farmer's market and that there is an indoor farmer's market during the winter months at the same location.

The Westmoreland Farmer's Market is located at the Westmoreland Fire Department on Station Road. The summertime event takes place every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will continue through October.

I do have to say, I appreciate the Sunday time slot. I don't know about you, but for me, a Sunday is a nice day to take it slow and relax. It's convenient to stop in, especially if you are out and about on a leisurely car ride. After walking around and speaking with a few vendors, I purchased a few tomatoes on my trip to the market.

Below, you can check out the pictures I took while at the farmer's market.

Have you been to the Westmoreland Farmer's Market? What do you think?
