It was back in January of this year that I made the New Year's resolution to wear a tie every day. So far, I am happy to report, that I am still sticking to my New Year's resolution. And, it was about February when I decided to ditch the traditional tie and go for the bow tie. It was our very own Greg Splachin' McShea who taught me how to tie a bow tie--and, the rest, they say, is history. But, little did I realize, back in the day, I was rockin' bow ties like no other.

Last week, my sister was going through old family pictures and found a picture of me--I'm guessing 1988, or so--wearing a sweet bow tie and some pretty awesome suspenders. I didn't look too thrilled in the picture. And, the little thought bubble was added many years later. But, I thought to myself, even back then I loved bow ties. Well, at least I think I loved bow ties; my enthusiasm is lacking in the picture.

You know, you don't see many bow ties anymore. In fact, I haven't seen anyone wearing a bow tie around town, unless, of course, there is a formal event. So, what I decided to do was take my fondness for bow ties one step further. I have started to make my own bow ties. Yup, I make my own. As a matter of fact, the yellow bow tie you see in the recent picture of me is homemade.

Anyway, after discovering my picture as a kid, I decided to do a before and now picture. I'm standing next to my current-day TV, and, instead of frowning, I turned that frown upside down. Enjoy.
