These still exist? Who knew.

It's hard to believe payphones are still around. It's even harder to believe I found one. The only thing missing was the booth for Superman to change in.  The phone was probably just for decoration since not surprisingly, it didn't work.

Payphones aren't the only thing you don't see many of anymore. Remember the pictures you had to shake or the boombox your cassettes got stuck in? All things the kids today know nothing about.

Polaroids

Gone are the days you take a picture that slides out and you have to shake to make it appear. It was like an Etch a Sketch in reverse.

Etch A Sketch

This was our iPad as kids. We drew pictures by turning the knobs. When you were done, shake and the picture disappears.

Turntable

The turntable played vinyl records, complete with crackles and skips due to the scratches on the record. Putting a penny on the needle helped stop the skips.

Cassettes

Remember the days of taking a pencil to wind up your cassettes after the tape came out?

Boombox

The boombox was what you put those cassettes in. More often than not, the tape got snarled up inside and you had to unwrap it to get it out. Then you had to use your pencil to wind it back up.

Computer

Remember when computers took up your whole desk with green screens and floppy disks?

Atari

Before Playstation, Wii and Xbox, was Atari. Sometimes you had to blow inside the actual game to get it to play. When it did, I'd spend hours playing Space Invaders, Pit Fall and Donkey Kong.

VCR

Movies use to be watched on a VCR and that was the upgrade from BETA machines.
