You Could Get a Ticket For Warming Up Your Car in New York
It's illegal to warm up your car and you can get a ticket. Just ask Nick Taylor who was fined $128 for warming up his car in his driveway.
Taylor, who is from Roseville, Michigan, posted the ticket on Facebook, calling the officer who gave it to him a derogatory name, which didn't sit well with the Roseville Chief James Berlin. "You see the disparaging comments he made about my officer? Drop dead."
The drop dead comment isn't sitting well with Roseville residents who are calling the police department to complain.
Michigan isn't the only state where it's illegal to leave your car running, unattended. The law is in effect in New York as well. The exception to the rule is car starters, since the key isn't in the ignition.
