The City of Utica is holding an open competitive Civil Service Exam for Police Officers.

The exam will be held on September 15, 2018, and applications for the exam must be received or postmarked by August 3, 2018.

Those who pass the exam will be put on a list that is used to fill vacancies in the Utica PD.

Eligible candidates must have been a legal resident of Oneida, Oswego, Lewis, Herkimer, Otsego or Madison Counties for at least 4 months before the date of the test (September 15).

A non-refundable application fee of $50 is required, and can be made payable to Utica Municipal Civil Service Commission.

A study guide for the exam can be found on the NYS Civil Service Exam website.

You can get an application forms from the City of Utica Website, or the office of The Utica Municipal Service Commission at 1 Kennedy Plaza in Utica any weekday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

You can also send a stamped self-addressed legal sized envelope with the applicants name and address on it, requesting an application for the position. Refer to exam number 61-691.
