The new Simon Cowell show 'The X-Factor' premiered on FOX.  The singing competition is open to anyone 12 or older.  Solo artists, duos and groups are also allowed.  The winner not only receives 500 million bucks but they also get to appear in a Pepsi commercial during the Super Bowl.  How cool is that!

13 year old Rachel Crow kicked off the show when she auditioned in front of not only the 4 judges, including Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell, but a jam packed audience.  She was feisty, funny and she could sing.  Check out her audition

The X-Factor seems to be bringing out the nicer side of Simon Cowell.  There were no insults or mean jabs.  He even said Stacy Francis, a 42 year old single mother of two, had the best audition he's ever heard.   Watch her sing 'Natural Woman' and judge for yourself.

There were so many great moments on the 2 hour premiere, but the story of Chris Rene had to be one of the best.  He's a recovering addict who has gone through rehab and been clean for 70 days.  He sang a song he wrote and blew everyone away.  If Chris can stay clean he can move on to the next round.  He's definitely one to keep an eye on this season.

'The X-Factor' continues with auditions tonight on FOX starting at 8.  Will you be watching this season?  What did you think of Simon Cowell's new show?  Will it give 'American Idol' a run for it's money?
