Wrestling Icon “Paul Bearer” Dies At 58
William Moody wasn’t a wrestler himself but as the WWE character “Paul Bearer” he was the mortician turned “manager” who handled some of the sports biggest names. Moody passed away Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama at age 58. Moody as “Paul Bearer” was best known for his relationship with one particular WWE star.
Moody hit the peak of his career when he joined the WWE in 1991, took the name Paul Bearer and became The Undertaker’s manager. Bearer’s face was painted a pasty white and he would carry an urn with him to ringside. He was known for a demonic laugh and the catch phrase, “Oh, yes!” He hosted a show on WWE broadcasts known as “The Funeral Parlor.”
