The World Christmas Tree Throwing Championships take place in Weidenthal, Germany. Competitions include Weitwurf which is a javelin-style contest, Hammerwurf which is a hammer-style, and a Hochwurf which is a high jump-style competition. Contestants are judged on overall distance and height.

The championships end with the Christmas trees being set on fire.
