You may be one of the 30,000 people that ride through the Wonderland of Lights every year at the Masonic Home, driving your stuffed carload through all of the displays. But what you may not know is that it's actually a fundraiser for the Resource Center for Independent Living. Here's the details on this year's event...

  • It kicks off November 28th and goes through the day after Christmas, public traffic can travel through between 5:30 and 8:30 every night. The show closes on a select few evenings so be sure to check RCIL's calendar before heading out
  • $8 will get you and whomever you were able to stuff in your car passage through the wonderland, and you can score a dollar off by grabbing your ticket in advance at Price Chopper. Their are different ticket tiers available depending on the size of your vehicle and maybe even try something different this time, ride in style taking in the lights from a limo!
  • There are several door prizes available from free gas cards to a mini vacation and all you have to do is be car #30 on a handful of special nights to win! (No camping out counting cars allowed, haha) Don't forget to bring your kid's letters to Santa and drop them in his special box along the way and the jolly fellow will write them back himself!
  • If your company or family would like to sponsor a display, you can do so for as little as $25 for small ones and as much as $10,000 for a large display. Of course each sponsorship level offers different perks appropriate to your donation.
  • Given the size of this event every year, it can't be done without a plethora of volunteers, be sure to sign up and see what you can do to help, from putting up light displays to greeting guests at the door!

However, in the meantime...

Since the light show is still a week off, don't wait to get in the Christmas Spirit! Join us at 'Christmas On Main Street' at Union Station THIS Saturday morning (Nov. 23rd) from 11a to 5p.
