Recently widowed Sarah Dawn McKinley took the law into her own hands when two men tried to break into her Blanchard, Oklahoma home.

Before pulling the trigger of her shotgun, McKinley moved a couch in front of a door, gave her three-month-old son a bottle, and called 911 to ask the operator if it was OK to fire her weapon in self-defense. After a 911 operator told her she could do whatever was necessary to protect herself, McKinley unloaded her 12-guage, killing Justin Shane Martin, who was attempting to enter her home on New Year's Eve, according to a Blanchard Police Department affidavit filed in court yesterday.  McKinley won't be charged because she acted in self-defense, according to First Assistant District Attorney James Walters.
