UPDATE: 01/09/2015 9:57pm I-90 Remains closed in both directions between Exit 53 (Downtown Buffalo - Canada/I-190) and Exit 61 (Ripley / Shortman Road).

The I-190 southbound ramp to westbound I-90 remains closed.

I-90 Is open in both directions between Exit 46 (Rochester - Corning / I-390) and Exit 53 (Downtown Buffalo - Canada / I-190)

I-190 Is open in both directions with the exception of Exit 7 (Skyway - NY Route 5).

Original Story:

The New York State Thruway is closed in both directions from Exit 46 to Exit 61 as Western New Yorkers brace themselves for another few feet of snowfall.

Travel is not permitted on I-90 between Henrietta and Shortman Road, and the Niagara Section, I-190, between I-90 and Exit 16 (I-290).

Any vehicles travelling westbound on I-90 will be detoured at Exit 46 (Henrietta).  Eastbound traffic will be detoured off at Exit 61 (Shortman Road).  Those travelling south on I-190 will be detoured off at Exit 16 (I-290).

The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
