Wind Advisory Until 5pm as Hurricane Sandy Approaches Central New York [VIDEO]

noaa.gov

Although Hurricane Sandy has transitioned to a post-tropical cyclone, it’s still expected to produce strong winds.  Central New York is under a wind advisory until 5 this afternoon.

Our area will see some rain but nothing like they’ve had in New York City and New Jersey.  The biggest concern is the winds at 25 miles an hour with gusts up to 40 mph.  Higher elevations could see stronger conditions which could result in downed trees and power lines.

The wind has already picked up as these dark clouds rolled in outside the station.  Take a look at the video I shot.  You can see the clouds moving in and hear the wind kicking up.
