The legendary Willie Nelson has become a doctor--of country music of course! The Berklee College of Music awarded Nelson with their honorary doctorate degree during their commencement ceremony on Saturday. After receiving the honor, Nelson addressed the graduates, telling them, “The history of music has been good, but the future is even better thanks to you folks.”

Carole King and Annie Lennox were also given the honor of becoming "doctors" during its commencement at the Boston school on Saturday.

According to the college's website, "This year’s honorary doctorate recipients were recognized for their achievements in contemporary music, for their enduring contributions to popular culture, and for the influence their careers and music have had on Berklee’s international student body."

I guess this just supports the idea that "Dr. Nelson's" music has healed many hearts in the past! Congratuations, Willie!
