A movie based on the life of the late George Jones is in the works. Jones and his wife Nancy have been working on the film the past few years.  There is no title yet but it will cover 'The Possum's' troubled life and success career. But who will play the country legend?  Here's my top 10.

1. Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges played a perfect alcoholic country singer in the movie 'Crazy Heart.' I can't think of anyone better to fill the Possum's shoes.

2. Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro can do it all; funny, mean, serious.

3. Michael Douglas

Michael Douglas was brilliant as Liberace in 'Behind the Candellabra.' Portraying George Jones would be a snap for Douglas.

4. Harrison Ford

Harrison Ford has played almost ever role there is. From Indian Jones to the President of the United States, and he knows how to be mean when the role calls for it.

Paramount

5. Jack Nicholson

Speaking of actors who've played every role. Jack Nicholson has done it all and I think would make a fantastic George Jones.

Warner Bros.

6. Clint Eastwood

Good ahead, make his day. Clint Eastwood as the Possum just makes sense.

7. Sean Connery

Sean Connery would have to shave his beard and learn a southern accent, but he's an actor, that's what they do.

8. Tommy Lee Jones

Tommy Lee Jones would also have to shave his beard, but he'd make a great George Jones.

9. Jim Carrey

I could so see Jim Carrey riding a lawn mower into town to buy more alcohol. Plus he has the look for a young George Jones and with Hollywood makeup, he could easily be transformed into the Possum late in life.

10. Leonardo DiCarpio

Before you groan, Leonardo just pulled off the role of J Edgar Hoover, looking both young and old.

George Jones passed away April 26th at the age of 81.
