Hillary Clinton handily won the popular vote here in New York State, but who did voters here in the Central New York counties support on Tuesday?  In a state that leans Democratic, we seem to be in a Republican area, at least in this years election.

The Times Union has published a breakdown of New York voting by county, and here are the results from our area counties:

Oneida County (Utica/Rome)   Trump 57%  Clinton 36%

Herkimer County (Herkimer/Little Falls/Ilion)   Trump 63%  Clinton 30%

Madison County (Oneida/Madison/Canastota)  Trump 53%  Clinton 38%

Lewis County  (Lowville)   Trump 66%  Clinton 27%

Otsego County  (Richfield Springs/Cooperstown)   Trump 52%  Clinton 39%

Onondaga County  (Syracuse)  Clinton 52%  Trump 40%

The Syracuse area was one of the few bright spots here in upstate New York for Hillary Clinton.  The former New York Senator easily defeated Trump in New York City, the Capital District and in Buffalo.  With the large metropolitan regions of the state supporting Clinton, she won the state by over 1.5 million votes.
