Where Are The Thanksgiving Songs?
November 22, 2011 10:10 AM I was thinking about the holiday season, and all of the Christmas carols and songs we’ve come to know and love. Thanksgiving is one of the most noted holidays during the “Frog Days of Fall”, but the only Thanksgiving song I can think of is “Over The River And Through The Woods to Grandmother’s House We’ll Go”.
Where are the rest? I guess we could consider some of our patriotic songs as Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA” an appropriate song for the day, but there seems to be no other specific Thanksgiving Day songs around. Let’s hope some of our contemporary songwriters might start writing a few for the generations to come.
