What To Buy, What To Avoid At A Dollar Store [VIDEO]

Let’s face it, we all shop at a dollar store from time to time. Saving money is something all of us strive to do but we have to be careful as to what to scrimp on and what to pay more for. Time.com has come up with a list of things to look for and what to avoid when shopping at a dollar store. Some of these are pretty obvious, others not so.
BUY:
School, Office and Craft Supplies
Party Supplies and Gift Wrap
Greeting Cards
Holiday Decorations
Drinking Glasses
DON’T BUY:
Plastic Wrap and Sandwich Bags — The wrap is cheap and they put fewer bags in each box.
Anything With An Electrical Cord — Lack of quality can make these items dangerous.
Cookware and Utensils — These junky tools don’t last.
Jarred Spices –Who knows how long they’ve been on the shelf.
Batteries — For a dollar, you just don’t get a lot of juice out of them.

My last trip to the dollar store was for a few hand towels for the barbeque grill. I got them plus a 3-pack of Big Red gum and a set of plastic drinking glasses. I guess I just couldn’t pass up a bargain! Check out his fun song about the dollar store shopping experience.
