While there will always be animals to feed and crops to grow, future farms may include other sources of income that come from harnessing nature. Cornell Cooperative Extension will host, Nature's Energy For Profit and Savings Tour August 17 at Suny Morrisville.

Most of the world is already looking for an alternative means to create energy, but farmers will be looking to do more than that.  In addition to "going green" they will be creating food, feed and fuel from solar and wind power and growing food in different ways.

The "self driving" tour will include :

  • Novel Ag biomass sources used as food, feed, fuel stocks & Industrial Hemp
  • Fenner Wind Farm
  • Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal
  • Mesonet Weather Station
  • Solar Fencing
  • Aquaculture & Aquaponics Facilities
  • Large & Small Scale Wind power
