Most of us own a car. As for me, I just want one that's dependable. But many people treat their cars like members of the family. Here's more on the subject.

According to a new survey by automotive.com, over 60 percent of car owners have named their car! (I've called my car a few choice names when it won't start, names that I can't repeat here). Some of the names used are: Big Red, Betsy, the Batmobile, Lucy, Penny and Silver Bullet. And the most popular name..."Beast".

Some other interesting statistics from the survey:

The most common age to get a first car is 16.

Some 15 percent interviewed never owned a car.

92 percent said that they always or usually wear seat belts. (That figure should be 100 percent).
