What Did You Get For Christmas?

Christmas Day has come and gone and, hopefully, Santa Claus brought you at least some of the gifts that were on your wish list. The most popular gifts were categorized as gadgets, jewelry, books, games and gift cards. But what about those gifts that are, well, just not right. Here are some gift returning tips from AboutaMom.com.
If at all possible bring the gift receipt or original receipt with you. If you want cash back for an item, in most cases you will need to have a receipt. Without a receipt you are going to get back either a merchandise credit or the lowest amount the item sold for.
Be sure to keep all tags, stickers and labels on the item. If not, some stores may charge you a restocking fee or a repacking fee, in the case of some electronics.
Know the stores return policy. Some stores will list terms of the return policy on the receipt. If not, you can usually go online to check. Don’t wait too long. You may only have a window from 7 to 90 days to make a return.
Did you get any gift cards this year? You’ll want to be sure to check the expiration date on your gift cards, so you don’t miss out.
Needless to say, be prepared for more crowds as you won’t be the only one who got the wrong size, color or style. Like my nephew.

He wanted something a little brighter.
