Every November, guys all over the country put down the razors and let their facial hair grow out. We're getting in on the idea this year, but for a local cause!

Traditionally, no-shave November is a way to raise awareness about testicular cancer, but we decided to follow the lead of the Frankfort Police Department and grow our 'Whiskers for Will.'

Will Linscott is 13 years old and is battling Leukemia. He is currently getting treatments at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, and will be needing a bone marrow transplant that will take him and his family to Philadelphia in the near future.

Here's how 'Whiskers For Will' works:

  • Grow a mustache – donate $20
  • Grow a beard – donate $30 (includes any facial hair beyond a mustache)
  • If you shave before the end of November – pay a penalty donation of $40

Here's a few of our beards already in progress

To wrap up the event, the Frankfort PD will be taking photos of people who are taking part in 'Whiskers for Will' at the Village of Frankfort's 'Christmas at the Marina' Nov. 26, 5-8 p.m.

They even have fake beards and mustaches for those who want to put one on for a photo!

The photos will then be made into a Christmas card that will be presented to the Linscott family as a gift from the community.

If you would like to join our staff in supporting Will and his family, you can drop off your donations at our studios at 9418 River Road, Marcy care of Luke Austin, or you can drop them off at the Frankfort Police Department.

If you are making a donation by check, please make it out to the Village of Frankfort PBA and write 'Whiskers For Will' in the note section.

100% of all donations collected will go directly to the Linscott family!
